Lawn Bowling

About the Game

Lawn Bowling is played by rolling biased (slightly uneven) balls across a flat green, trying to get them as close as possible to a smaller target ball called the "jack." It’s a traditional game with roots in England, often enjoyed socially and competitively.

Basic Rules

  • Players take turns rolling their bowls toward the jack.
  • The bowl closest to the jack scores points.
  • Games can be singles, pairs, triples, or fours.
  • Matches are usually played to a set number of ends (rounds).

Skills Needed

  • Accuracy and control
  • Understanding of angles and bias
  • Strategic placement
